Events – gr.dano Debuts In Los Angeles At TenOverSix

(Lovely draping)

To mark their debut in Los Angeles, gr.dano presented their architectural-inspired collection with an afternoon reception at TenOverSix. Co-designers Jill Giordano and Brian Scheyer were at hand to go over the jersey dresses, skirts and pants adorned with simple draping and sculptural details. Tasha and I fell in love with a knee-length skirt that was both sexy and professional for work. (More looks from the line and the designers, after the jump.)

(The heather gray skirt is a must)

The always-chic Rose Apodaca hosted the reception and had also selected gr.dano as part of the Pasadena Museum of California Design’s “California Design Biennial: Action/Reaction” exhibit. I can see why. The clothes have an artistic quality to them without being too avant-garde. An added plus is that the designers are from California, situated in San Francisco.

TenOverSix owner Brady Cunningham also looked adorable, showing off her tiny baby bump. Congrats! We were gushing over the wares in the store, including these affordable unisex espadrilles (see below) made by two guys from Brazil that currently live in Los Angeles.

(Ioan espadrilles, $35)
