Larchmont Boulevard was jumping on Sunday morning and so was Fluxus. The two-year-old LA label has been doing extremely well with their insanely, tissue-soft clothes. With the recent addition of Project Runway’s Jeffrey Sebelia as head designer, I went by the shop to check out his take on the line. Store manager Juan Justicia dished on the line’s expansion ideas (doggie wear?), their new Fashion Island store and more, after the jump.

Sebelia used wax treatment to add a new take on the collection of wearable vests, leggings, scoop-neck t-shirts and jackets. It definitely gives a rocker feel to the looks that I like. Price points range from $60 to $300. There’s a small men’s collection and a practically sold out children’s collection can be found next door at Flicka. “We’re even thinking about venturing into dogwear,” says Justicia.
Fluxus will be opening a store on Fashion Island April 14 and the brand just signed a lease to open another in Santa Barbara. Living up to their name (Fluxus is named after an art movement from the ’60s that blended different mediums), the brand is also in talks to test a popup art store on Robertson Boulevard as well as looking for places in LA for a Fluxus jazz lounge. Even their new lookbook ventures into magazine-style articles by featuring stories on LA band Papillon and artist Phillip Toledano.
It’s always good to hear that a local brand is doing well. Swing by their flagship store on 202 North Larchmont Boulevard for a look at their new collection.
