Head over to Tortoise General Store at 1208 Abbot Kinney Boulevard for a No Cookie Left Behind bake sale to benefit Japan’s earthquake victims tomorrow, Saturday, May 14. Expect treats from GjelinaPlatine CookiesChow Balla‘s maple bacon popcorn, Seattle’s Theo Chocolate and Bliss Cakes by Stephanie Sparkles, who was just featured on Daily Candy, and much more. Eating sweets for a good cause? There’s nothing wrong with that. (Find out how you can help, after the jump.)

I’ll admit, this bake sale is a bit personal for me because my mother is Japanese (but her relatives are safe in Tokyo). I’ll also admit I don’t bake, so I’ll be sneaking something from a bakery that I’ll probably divvy into cute wax bags sealed with fancy Japanese tapes. Our secret.

A little about the organization. No Cookie Left Behind encourages community driven bake sales and has raised $17,000 for various charities. This weekend’s Westside version will benefit International Medical Corps.

If you’re interested in volunteering, donating baked goods, or asking local bakeries and restaurants for donations, please contact organizer Jen Sall. The festivities are from 2pm-5pm. You’re not going to want to miss this!
