(Inside the new Marc by Marc Jacobs Accessories shop)
Marc Jacobs rules the intersection of Melrose Avenue and Melrose Place. He now has five retail spaces—Marc Jacobs Men, Marc Jacobs Women, Marc by Marc Jacobs Men, Marc by Marc Jacobs Women, and a new Marc by Marc Jacobs Accessories boutique at 8407 Melrose Place. I took a tour of the busy new shop this weekend, the opening of which is an overall improvement for the entire Marc by Marc Jacobs presentation. By moving the majority of the accessories across the street—the “special items” avid shoppers follow online—it makes it much easier to browse and shop the merchandise at Marc by Marc Jacobs Men and Women… (The accessories and Book Marc items after the jump.)

I couldn’t help but feel nostalgic while trying on stylist Maripol’s fun collab jewelry collection for Marc by Marc Jacobs. Maripol is the woman behind Madonna’s look when she first came out—all Boy Toy, lace, rubber bracelets. The collection runs from $4-$35. Interestingly, even the bigger, chunky pieces (like the black necklace shown above), are pretty lightweight. The Maripolarama book is a collection of the stylist’s Polaroids, which she’s also known for. All the photos on the outside of the packaging of the collection were taken by Maripol.

It used to be quite hectic shopping Marc by Marc Jacobs Women, where many of the accessories were formerly housed. Now, the women’s collection can really shine, including a host of new BookMarc items. Sadly, only NYC is getting the Marc Jacobs-branded bookstore, but we at least get access to some of the merch.
