Portugal-based Salsa Jeans opened its “Salsa Fits My Life” concept store last Tuesday in the former Antik Denim space at 8013 Melrose Avenue. As anticipated, the men’s and women’s boutique carries myriad washes and style from around $90-$200, featuring a good deal of hardware and detailing. A staffer notes that many of the styles can be worn unisex (he was wearing a women’s style; a female staffer loves wearing the men’s skinny style)… (A look inside, plus A Bathing Ape, peek inside Vanessa Bruno, Hacked Club and more after the jump.)

(Inside Salsa Fits My Life there are so many mannequins, it gives the effect of random people just sitting and standing around the shop—a bit disconcerting really.)

Apparently, the company does washes for other brands as well, including JBrand, which is interesting since shoppers who like a lot going on with their denim (side-ruching, ties, leather pockets, etc) will gravitate to Salsa Fits My Life, while a jeans minimalist will stick to JBrand.
Just east of Salsa Fits My Life, A Bathing Ape has shuttered at 8001 Melrose Avenue, leaving the massive space for lease.
Vanessa Bruno, which is supposed to soft open at the end of this month at 8448 Melrose Avenue, just east of La Cienega, now has a proper awning with signage.
(A look inside Vanessa Bruno—there is one rack of clothing visible toward the back.)

A women’s boutique Hacked Club, featuring new and vintage merch, has opened at 8426 1/4 West 3rd Street, which formerly housed medical marijuana dispensary Sky Heaven.
And for Verizon users, look for a new location coming to the Farmers Market, formerly Elements Spa & Salon.
