I’ve walked by this duplex at 325 South La Jolla Avenue at Blackburn many, many times, thinking how wonderful it would be to make the upgrade from apartment to duplex. It’s one of those stand-out buildings in a sea of so-so, well-groomed on the outside with a bit of character. The building has two three-bedrooms two-bathers, and one two-bedroom one-bath. One of the three-bedrooms two-bathers is for rent… (The price, the stats after the jump.)
And it does sound lovely—two floors, 2,000 square feet, hardwood floors, central air and heat, walk-in closets, wood burning fireplace, patio, one-car garage parking, and—the kicker!—a washer and dryer in the unit. At $3,075/month, it’s also a kick in the gut, but hey, maybe it will come down further for some lucky duck; when I called last week, I was quoted $3,200. Get more deets and a few images via Craigslist. It’s hard to tell (frustrating small images!), but the kitchen looks a little bleh.

Why don’t ya rent it? Make ‘em an offer! Take it from someone who just rented a house down the street… in this market, asking prices are meaningless. :-)
