Keren Cytter: This 32-year-old Berlin-based video artist has caused quite a stir lately. Her non-linear-narrative films portray characters entangled in complicated relationships, simultaneously connected and alienated from another. One of her videos shown here is reinterpreting the short story that Antonioni’s iconic film “Blow-up” was based on. Break The Whip: Written and directed by Tim Robbins, this play tells the story of the colony of Jamestown, 1607, which was founded over a decade before the pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock. I’ve seen a few plays at the Actor’s Gang, and it’s been extraordinary each time. There are only nine “sneak-peek” performances for $10. The Actor’s Gang, March 18th – April 3rd.
Iooss and Leifer: In the aftermath of the Olympics, you might want to check out this exhibition of these two legendary sports photographers, who, combined, have captured almost a century of athletic history.
