Crowds packed into interiors shop Mogul at 8262 Melrose Avenue last Wednesday evening to celebrate the launch of the Los Angeles edition of the “Wallpaper* City Guide 2010.” In a palette of black and more black, the boutique oozes over-the-top luxury and excess, in which the “Guide” notes: “Owner/designers Thomas Piscitello and Neal Wagner pay homage to the glitzy side of Tinseltown…” Sprinkles Cupcakes, Petrossian caviar, and Blue Angel Vodka cocktails fueled the event, but I mostly taken by the merch—this is a place to get a $5,000 leather duvet, a $1,000 decorative revolver, and glittery lighting fixtures that demand equally lavish room and ceiling proportions… (More photos after the jump.)
