2007 Project Runway winner Christian Siriano presented a collection that was inspired by the “European women of the 50s and 60s,” alas, an era where women dressed up to go grocery shopping. Hence, we saw a lot of sophisticated, tailored separates and knee-length dresses, mostly held in black or dark blue. What gave the whole thing a bit of an edge were the shoes, which were quite unique with their silver, clunky heels, ruffles along the sides or a sandal-take-on-a-boot approach. Image gallery and more on the collection after the jump.
Being best known for his eveningwear, a large part of the collection consisted of cocktail attire and red carpet gowns, which were a bit heavy handed for me with large satin bows or extravagant, fabric rich floor length robes. However, they still looked impressive coming down the runway and for sure would be an eyecatcher at any red carpet event.
