Colette, left, and Paloma, right, at Pan Pacific Park
Yes, it’s been a while, and some things have changed, both to Mondette, the site, and the people (big and little!) that make this thing happen. As you can see, we’ve had a major redesign – we’ve simplified our look, and hopefully made it much, much easier to find content, either by clicking on one of the tabs above, or typing into the “search” above center. You’ll find content divided by city area under “City Guides –> Los Angeles,” where there’s a drop-down menu, denoting Eastside, Mid-City, or Westside.
We’ve also changed the scope of our content somewhat. Mondette will still focus on Los Angeles lifestyle, but we’re stepping away from our original newsy, bloggy (for lack of a better word) coverage, and returning, in essence, to our original print journalism roots. What does that mean? We’re aiming to produce content you won’t find elsewhere – feature stories, peppered by shorter feature-ettes – from two people who have loved, lived, and written about the city for nearly three decades combined. That said, we still have a newsy component – shops opening and closing, new restaurants on the horizon, street art sightings, etc. – which can be found on our Twitter and Facebook streams.
While our hiatus has been long, we haven’t exactly been sitting around eating macarons. Lilliam has been busy with six-month-old Colette, and, these days, I’ve been running to keep up with Paloma, now 14 months. It’s safe to say you can count on a bit of baby/kid lifestyle content added to the mix! Professionally, besides working on our Mondette re-envisioning, Lilliam has been doing some styling – you’ll find her groom wedding story and bridal runway report in California Wedding Day magazine next month. And I’ve been creating content for Pink Chicken’s blog, an adorable kids and women’s brand out of NYC.
So, welcome back! We’re happy to be back ourselves with Mondette in its new incarnation, and our two new little staffers in tow.
