Shops – Zimmermann Now Open, Alpha Moved, Soolip Progress, and Is Tory Burch Men’s Coming to Robertson?

I mentioned last week that Aussie label Zimmermann—best known for its feminine, sexy swimwear—was moving to Robertson to open its first U.S. boutique, and turns out the shop’s doors opened that very day (Wednesday) at 110 South Robertson Boulevard. Awash in white and filled with natural light, the new boutique welcomes with its skylit interior and summery options (alluringly pretty bikinis and one-pieces, whispery dresses, and chic, tailored pants in glorious prints), all of which made me feel desperate for a holiday. Along with its merch, the brand has transplanted a trio of experienced Zimmermann staff to run the shop, and I’m guessing there will be more than a few significant others that will be fine taking in the Australian beauties while their girlfriends shop… (Men’s shop opening next door, Alpha and Soolip on Melrose after the jump.)

Will this be Tory Burch‘s new men’s shop, located next door to Zimmermann and just north of Burch’s 142 South Robertson shop? WWD reported back in March that at a talk at the French Institute Alliance Français, the designer “did mention flirting with the idea of a men’s line, inspired by her father’s wardrobe.” And just to throw us off, a Zimmermann staffer heard that “Tory Burch’s husband is doing a men’s line,” which would fill the space. Hmm, very curious what the mysterious “M” stands for. Has anyone heard anything?

Take note—men’s shop Alpha has moved to a tad west to Clothespin’s former space at 8654 Melrose Avenue.

Also mentioned last week—luxe stationery shop Soolip’s impending move June 1 to its old space at 548 Norwich Drive. New signage is shown above at the previous and near-future Norwich location.
