Artist Shepard Fairey is creating a mural for the new West Hollywood Library and he has some questions for you. The library, due to open this fall at San Vicente and Santa Monica, will feature a mural by Fairey that will be informed by the community’s answers to a short survey about the iconography of the city. Fairey is well-known for his street art and graphic designs, much of which can be seen around our very own neighborhood. (A look at one of his murals, after the jump.)

The survey states that the style of the mural and method of its creation are intended to celebrate the city and showcase the democratic process of the artist. If you’d like to participate, visit the short survey here. To get you brainstorming, here’s my answer to question #1: I know I’ve entered West Hollywood the moment I see the street signs and traffic light cameras in that bright electric blue.
