Labels – Meet Designer Meredith Fisher Of Charles Henry

(Designer Meredith Fisher)

This being the season where everyone is looking for the perfect cocktail dress, I wanted to share with you my latest discovery of the label Charles Henry. I took a closer look at their Holiday lookbook this weekend and loved the extensive selection of little black dresses. They were all innovative, young, and sophisticated at the same time. (Check out my top picks after the jump.)

(Not only do I like the black dresses, but I also really liked the black top for more casual festivities)

I met the designer, Meredith Fisher, a few weeks ago. Just barely out of college, Meredith already has another successful label launched under her belt: WAYF (which she started in high school and was immediately picked up by Satine). Taking a break from fashion to go to college, her new line Charles Henry, named after her grandfather, has naturally a more grownup feel to it, and is available at Madison and Intermix.

My absolute favorite is the simple cut version pictured above left. It couldn’t be chicer in it’s simplicity and easy to wear. Works with high heels just as good as it does with ballerinas, and I love the fact that it gives you some breathing room. Personally, I can’t resist all the culinary temptations during this time of the year, and appreciate a dress that’s a bit forgiving in that department. Of course, the brand offers much more than just little black dresses. Meredith has put together a collection offering classic pieces as well as statement pieces inspired by current trends, carrying over wonderfully from day-to-night. But these black stunners are so on my radar…
